Rhino orphanage

The connection between MR -Art lies in the art Merel makes. For too long we have been depleting the earth and need to realise that we have long since crossed the line of living a carefree life. Merel's recent work mostly deals with the imminent demise of this beautiful planet with its inhabitants and nature

One of many endangered species is the white rhino which is hunted by poachers. The rhino is and of the last large land animals and dates back somewhere to 7000 BC. These poachers shoot the rhino to get the horn. This horn is worth its weight in gold as it will be crushed and ingested by people who think it will allow them to stay lecherous longer!!!

In this hunt, the poachers often leave the calf alone with the mother's carcass. An additional problem is that the poachers are heavily armed and will stop at nothing.

The Rhino Orphanage tracks down these lonely calves and protects them on a safe farm. Here, they are raised for later release in a reserve.

It needs many donations for food and equipment to get into action quickly. A Rhino orphan cannot grow up on its own.

MR-Art BV wants to contribute to this by donating a percentage of the artworks sold.

It is also an ode to all the volunteers who contribute in sustaining our planet.
